What the customers say about our ‘Steak and Ale Pie’
‘A little gem’
Arrived on a Friday on the off chance at getting a table and although the restaurant was fully booked they were able to squeeze us in and boy were we pleased they did. The meal was gorgeous. We both had the Steak and Ale pie and it was divine, big chunks of juicy steak in a shortcrust pie that just melted in the mouth, served with hand cut chips and peas.
The chef came out to ask how our meal was and we got chatting. Very friendly and warm reception, an absolute gem of a find in a country setting. Lovely and worth a more visits to sample the rest of the menu.
Me and my husband have just returned from having an amazing meal cooked to perfection, this was to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary.
We had visited about four wks ago during the afternoon and had a couple of drinks there, we were going to order food that day but were too early as food is served at 6 o’clock.
Sally- Ann Is a lovely and clearly a very warm caring person Whose main concern are that her customers are her main priority- she served the food to us and checked everything was ok with our meals.
I ordered the leek and potato soup served with crusty bread and the steak and ale home made pie and my husband ordered mushrooms stuffed with cream cheese and garlic with toasted breadcrumbs and for his main sirloin steak.
We had a bottle of wine amazing price £8.95
Food was presented well and exceptionally hot,the perfect meal!!!
Sally -Ann’s husband is the experienced chief clearly with a lot of experience behind him!
We will definitely be visiting The Bell at Salford Priors and recommending it to others!
Thanks again both.
Short weekend break
Attractive village and The Bell is the place to be. James & Sally Ann run a fantastic little free house pub, if you want to watch sport on TV don’t bother…there isn’t one just good company and great ale. Very friendly locals make you welcome and the restaurant is fantastic. A must is James’s Steak & Doom Bar pie made by James using only the best ingredients. We stayed for two nights in the accommodation situated adjacent to the pub. Just right for two people with king size bed compact kitchenette and shower. We have threatened to return.
